No, our sensitivity tests are designed to be simple and non-invasive. Hair sample tests only require a few strands of hair, which can be gently plucked or trimmed close to the root. There’s no discomfort involved, and no needles or blood are required.
This will not have any effect on the results. Dyed or treated hair is usually fine, as the testing is based on the structure of the hair, not its colour.

IgG or IgE Blood Test (Finger Prick / DBS Card / Microvette Tube) While it is possible to take a blood-based intolerance or allergy test during pregnancy, we generally do not recommend it. Pregnancy can cause temporary changes in the immune system, which may affect antibody levels (including IgG and IgE) and lead to results that don’t accurately reflect your long-term sensitivities or allergies. For this reason, many healthcare professionals advise waiting until after pregnancy (and breastfeeding, if applicable) before testing. If you are pregnant and considering testing, we strongly recommend you speak with your doctor or healthcare provider first. They can help determine whether testing now or waiting until after pregnancy is the best option for you.
